Overview
CrashCatch Labs ("we", "us", "our") operates the CrashCatch software and the website at crashcatchlabs.com. This policy describes how we handle personal information.
The short version: the local CrashCatch desktop tool collects no data about you or your usage. If you use cloud features or sign up for the mailing list, we collect only what's necessary to provide those services.
The Local Desktop Tool
CrashCatch Analyze (the desktop application) operates entirely on your machine.
- It does not run background processes.
- It does not phone home or send telemetry.
- It does not upload crash dumps or analysis results unless you explicitly use a cloud feature and are authenticated.
- Your crash data, PDB files, and analysis results stay on your machine.
The Website (crashcatchlabs.com)
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log standard HTTP request data (IP addresses, user agents, request paths) as part of their infrastructure. Please refer to Cloudflare's privacy policy for details on their data handling.
We do not run our own analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party ad scripts on this website.
Mailing List
If you sign up for the CrashCatch mailing list, we collect your email address and store it via Mailchimp (an Intuit product). By subscribing, you agree to Mailchimp's privacy policy.
We use your email address solely to send product announcements, beta invitations, and release notes. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
Cloud Features (Team / Enterprise Tiers)
If you use CrashCatch cloud features, we collect and store:
- Your account email address and authentication credentials (password stored as a bcrypt hash).
- Crash data you explicitly upload: minidump files, JSON analysis reports, and associated metadata (application name, version, build ID).
- PDB symbol files you upload for symbol resolution.
This data is associated with your account and your project(s). It is used solely to provide the crash reporting service. We do not analyse your crash data for advertising or any purpose other than providing the service.
You can export or delete your crash data at any time through the dashboard.
Data Retention
- Mailing list: retained until you unsubscribe.
- Cloud crash data: retained for the duration of your subscription, plus 30 days after cancellation to allow export. Configurable retention policies are available on Team and Enterprise tiers.
- Account data: retained until you request account deletion.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@crashcatchlabs.com.
Children's Privacy
CrashCatch is a developer tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify mailing list subscribers by email.
